Wrapping it Up!

Wow! Another semester has flown by. This blog post is just going to be me reminiscing on my time in FILM 100. When I first started this class, I never actually looked deeper into a movie. All I saw in a film was whatever was shown on the screen. However, after going through this course, I have learned so much about films: from the setting, to the cinematography, to the mise en scene. Additionally, I have been exposed to new types of movies I probably would have never watched in my lifetime.

A quick recap of the films we watched this semester were:

Snowy the Turtle

Rear Window

Get Out

Lost in Translation

Pan's Labyrinth

Me and You and Everyone We Know

Jaws

The Social Dilemma

My favorites from this list were Rear Window, Get Out, and Jaws. Rear Window was a shock for me. It was the first full film we viewed and I was not excited that it was older. However, the storyline and the way the camera angles were drew me in. The idea that the entire film was set in one man's apartment and was able to be so intriguing blew my mind. Get Out was a film I knew I was going to enjoy from the beginning. The director of this film has many well-known films and I was immediately drawn in from the plot and suspense. Jaws was a film I explained in my previous blog post. Basically, I loved it and that's that.

A recommendation I have for next semester's class is The Greatest Showman. I talked about this film in my first blog post and I am ending my blog by speaking about it. It is a great film and it has an amazing storyline. I highly recommend this film for an upbeat viewing experience. I had a great time in this class and learned a lot more about films than I expected!
