All About Anna
Hi! My name is Anna Gawron and I have created this blog for my college film class. I have always been intrigued by and appreciated films. I think films can teach us a lot of life lessons, but also some can show us that there can be a happily ever after. Films have developed immensely since I began watching them as a kid and I am excited to see how much more the film industry is going to develop!
Some information about me is that I have always been surrounded by sports growing up. I started gymnastics when I was just 18 months old and I continued gymnastics up until I was 11 years old. It was my whole life and I even won state on the balance beam once. However, I grew out of it (literally). I was one of the tallest gymnasts on my team and decided that the sport wasn't for me. Then, I tried out for a volleyball club team that same year I left gymnastics and have been playing volleyball ever since. I am on the women's volleyball team here at school as a setter.
I am also a student worker on campus as a Facility Attendant and on Event Staff. I am majoring in Human Resource Management. One day, I want to lead people to succeed in a major company. I have always been an extrovert and someone who doesn't mind having a conversation with someone new.
My favorite films are musicals. I think that has something to do with me being an extrovert. I love watching films that use songs to display the storyline. Some of my favorite musicals are Pitch Perfect, The Greatest Showman, and A Star is Born. These movies all show the emotion characters are feeling while they are singing and it brings the movies to life! I am excited to watch some new films in this class and discuss how they are made and so much more!
Your views on how film can affect our lives are very insightful. As Dr. Kyburz said, films are made to stir up emotions and deep feelings. I take it you like musicals as the three films you listed indicate. You might want to check out the 2022 film "The Sky Is Everywhere," since it follows your theme.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you that film can teach us a lot of life lessons. I also liked how you talked about how film has changed so much over time. It is cool that you like musicals because I also enjoy musicals as well. One of my favorite musicals is "Mamma Mia", and if you haven't seen it yet I recommend watching it.
DeleteHi Anna!
ReplyDeleteI love that you love musicals! They have always been a favorite of mine. Do you enjoy broadway theater too then? What do you think of the differences between movie musicals and broadway?
I actually have not gotten into broadway. I would like to see a show once. It is definitely on my bucket list!
